Our Learning Program

Marigold Community Learning currently supports children from 3-12 years of age (Pre-K Prep to Grade 6). Children are placed based on a number of factors. We have a strong focus on the child’s needs, including academic skill level and emotional maturity. The decisions are based on how Marigold can best support your child, providing them with a classroom environment that nurtures their confidence and allows their academic and social and emotional skills to flourish.

Sometimes, children may be academically more advanced or are older in age, but require more time to develop social-emotionally.  In this case it may be recommended that the child remains as a leader in their assigned class until the new year.  Saying that, if a child is excelling academically but not yet socially and emotionally ready, then we will ensure they receive work in their current classroom that continues to challenge them.

In addition to considering the child and their needs, we also take into consideration the class dynamic and environment that they will be placed into when moving up a grade.
